Fans and cooling
fans are a type of cooling system you can use to keep your computer cool. Cooling is important in computers because if the hardware overheats there is a possibility it can get damaged or even ruined.
There are two types of cooling :
There are two types of cooling :
- liquid cooling
- air cooling
Fans come in different sizes, the most common are 120mm and 140mm. Depending on the case of the computer you can place the fans where ever you see them working efficiently. However liquid cooling works in a unique way, the coolant (the liquid) is poured into a reservoir or tank, which is connected to a pump unit. The pump pushes the fluid out the a network of pipes to a block of conductive metal, usually made from aluminium or copper. The block is on the CPU or GPU, there are small narrow channel running through its core. The coolant flows through the channels, absorbing heat from the material and then goes to the radiator. The fans cool the smaller channels when the liquid reaches the radiator, this process just constantly repeats.
